Tuesday 5 February 2013
We're starting our Society of Editors year with a Big Name Speaker for our first general meeting: Chris Warren, the Federal Secretary at the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).
Chris started his career in words as a cadet at the Sydney Morning Herald in 1976 and worked as a staff and freelance journalist for various employers. He was Federal Secretary of the old AJA (Australian Journalists Association) from 1986; he became (and remains) Fed Sec when the AJA amalgamated with other related unions in 1992.
How can the MEAA help editors, especially freelancers? That's what Chris Warren will talk to us about on Tuesday 5 February at our first meeting of the year.
