Workshop details and registration now available
Include pre-conference workshops in your IPEd National Conference experience in 2017!
In line with the theme, 'Advancing our profession', you have the opportunity to register for two of five pre-conference half-day workshops on 13 September that will advance your editing skills. There will be two workshops in the morning, running parallel, and three in the afternoon.
Dr Lisa Lines, one of Australia's most experienced academic editors, will present a workshop entitled Academic Editing - necessary training in how to follow the Guidelines in our changing tertiary education environment. This focuses on editing research theses, with tips for dealing with clients, and practical editing skills and exercises.
In our workshop on Endnote for editors Hilary Cadman will give an overview of this program, with comprehensive course notes and other resources: a valuable opportunity to try before you buy.
Are you apprehensive about being online and out there? Belinda Pollard will cut through the maze of online marketing with a practical workshop entitled Online marketing for editors and indexers. The result will be the confidence to develop your online and social marketing presence to build your business and income.
Do you want to help your clients develop their writing and utilise your editing skills more effectively? Then The missing link: manuscript appraisal, presented by Ann Bolch, is for you! Ann will help you discover the joy of coaching your clients to achieve their best manuscripts ever.
Finally, many of us toil as self-employed editors. Jackey Coyle's workshop: Dance steps for the self-employed editor: five essential steps for solo success focuses on the core elements of designing your business to maximise your outcome and earning capacity. You will leave this workshop with an action plan tailored to your needs.
